Joseph Del Duca

Joseph Del Duca, 91, of Old Bridge, New Jersey passed away on Sunday, October 16, 2022, at the Reformed Church Home, in Old Bridge. Born Thursday, September 17, 1931 in Brooklyn, NY, Joseph was the son of the late Anthony and Carmela Del Duca. Joseph was raised in the Park Slope section of Brooklyn and was a graduate of Manuel High School. Joseph served his country honorably in the United States Army, during the Korean War from1951-1952. Joseph married the love of his life, Jean and the couple started their own family in Brooklyn. Joseph was a track maintenance worker with the New York City Transit Authority. The family eventually settled in the Eltingville section of Staten Island. There, Joseph and Jean raised their four children. During this time, Joseph was very active in the parish of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church. He worked there as a custodian and also worked the bingo games at church. Joseph and Jean retired and moved to Jackson, NJ. There, Joseph was active in the community where he became a member of the bocce and shuffleboard leagues, and once again worked the bingo games. Joseph enjoyed watching sports, the NY Yankees being his favorite team. He was an excellent cook, and one of his favorite activities was planning dinners at Peter Lugers Steakhouse. Above all, Joseph loved being surrounded by his family. He enjoyed sharing life's experiences with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a truly generous and caring man who will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife of 58 years, Jean and his older brother, Sebastian Del Duca. Joseph is survived by his loving children, Karen Laperuta, Anthony Del Duca and his wife Kathy, Donna LaCorte and her husband Joe, and Joseph Del Duca and his wife Christine; his caring siblings, Louise Corraro, Anthony Del Duca, and his sister's-in-law, Mary Brennan Del Duca and Monique Reiter; his cherished grandchildren, Fallyn DiPasquale, Michael Wolfe, Kathleen Del Duca, Joseph Del Duca, Nicholas Del Duca, Sophia LaCorte, Ava LaCorte, Joseph Del Duca, and Julia Del Duca and his adored great grandchildren, Orazio, Antonino, and Oriana and many devoted nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals & Cremation Services Inc., 113 Main Street, Matawan, New Jersey.
