Jennifer Reilly

Jennifer Reilly, age 51, passed away peacefully at home on July 24, 2025, after a courageous 19-month battle with glioblastoma. She was surrounded by the love of her devoted family. Born and raised in Staten Island, New York, Jennifer was a proud graduate of St. John Villa High School and earned her Master's degree in Education from the College of Staten Island. With deep passion and dedication, she taught elementary school at PS 16 and PS 6 in Staten Island, where she touched the lives of countless students and colleagues alike. In 2006, Jennifer and her husband moved to Matawan, New Jersey, where she quickly became an active and beloved member of the community. She was a part of the local Moms Club, a supportive Cub Scout mom, and a friend to many. Jennifer had a deep love for traveling and made unforgettable memories on trips with her family. But above all, her greatest joy in life was being a mother to her children, Patrick and Abigail. Jennifer was predeceased by her loving mother Janet. Jennifer is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Thomas Reilly; their cherished children, Patrick and Abigail; her father, Gerard Schultz; her brother, Joseph, and his wife Kristen; her sisters-in-law, Maureen Reilly and Beth Landers (Ryan); and a wide circle of extended family, friends, students, and neighbors who were touched by her warmth. Jennifer will be remembered for her radiant smile, kind heart, and unwavering generosity. She had a gift for making those around her feel seen and supported and never hesitated to lend a hand to anyone in need. Her spirit lives on in the lives she impacted, the lessons she taught, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. A Funeral service will be at 9:30 AM on Monday at St Clements Roman Catholic Church located at 172 Freneau Ave Matawan, New Jersey 07747. Interment will be in St. Gabriel's Cemetery, Marlboro, NJ. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Saturday, July 26, 2025, and Sunday, July 27, 2025 at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals & Cremation Services Inc., 111 Main Street, Matawan, New Jersey.
